Rogall & The Electric Circus Sideshow

A 12 track leftfield/idm album (52m 46s) — released May 1st 2008 on Perfect Toy

The Electric Circus Sideshow is a place of the bizarre and grotesque, a phantastic venue, sometimes tragic, sometimes comic. This is an album full of stories. We are not just talking about the lyrics, but also about the genesis of the group and their songs. Nothing on the recording happened accidentally, but without fate it wouldn´t exist. You could say, it needed three years to produce this album, but actually it was much more time, because some of the concepts were sleeping for half a life and above all, this is not just a ordinary music group! The circumstances that led to the joining of the individual members to the group are completely diverse, but they are all linked in a special way to the"Electric Mysterious Wonder"Rogall (Nylon/ Micatone), the producer of the album. It is not a "circus sideshow" in the original meaning, but it is a presentation of the individual characters who joined forces for this project, surely some "freaks" of a different kind.

Earl "Sideshow Bob" Zinger: The man with the biggest number of different styles and hunter of the last bassline. He is an endless repository of profound and true stories that are otherwise heard, if ever, on a good night on Silk Road, (short to Samarkand.) Hugo "The Laughing Man" Race who brings the Australian spirit into the world. His lyrics are authentic, even though they are also a bit rough. The blues are thereby ubiquitous.

Steve "The Mudman" Moss, once at home in the incomparable "Universal Congress Of...", was busy making the "best music on earth." No one plays the sax as "muddy" as him. In total contrast to Bev Lee Harling whose voice is incredibly smooth, especially when she talks and interprets dreams and things. She is a phenomenal mistress in what she is doing! Furthermore you experience "The Hierophant" Farda P. who is chased by some ghosts from last night and, with a special guest performance on this album, Henry "The Strong Man" Rollins who provides one of his legendary poems. Other musicians who carry this project are Achim "The Tap Drum Monk" Färber (drums) and "San Ra" Weckert (baritone sax), plus instrumentalists like Frank "The Conjurer" Moon (oud) and Daniela Petry (bass) - all of them have an extremely comprehensive and multi-faceted background.

The Electric Circus Sideshow connects personalities which have written their very own story, such names include Galliano, Universal Congress Of..., Rockers - Hifi, Medieval Babes, Black Flag and N.C. & the Bad Seeds.

The album comes with a 20-page booklet, containing all lyrics, woodcarvings of the protagonists and an exclusive short story by Paul Waldner.
